Cultural and Linguistic Competence
Translated Materials:
Grantees in the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and Their Families Program are encouraged to provide materials (e.g., forms, protocols, letters, brochures, etc.) in languages that reflect the culture of their populations of focus. This website provides the opportunity for peer-to-peer sharing of these materials. The products included have been made available through the voluntary and generous efforts of participating System of Care communities.
Materials provided may be copied, reprinted or altered as necessary to provide culturally competent information. It is hoped that these items will be helpful as materials are developed to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of System of Care communities.
These translated items are provided as examples only. Please note that they have not been reviewed for technical accuracy or linguistic equivalence by CMHS or other translation specialists, nor are they approved or endorsed for use within any given population. Questions or comments regarding these products should be directed to the identified community contact person.
Please consider sharing materials you’ve developed with other communities. Please email them to soc@samhsa.hhs.gov. Make sure you include contact information.
We hope that this Translation Bank will be helpful as you continue to develop materials in different languages.
